Juvenile news

Super result for our U-16's
It was a trip well worth making over to Tyrellspass on Monday evening for our U-16 footballers as they recorded a one point win over the home team in the opening round of the 2017 Championship. Final score: Tyrellspass 5-15 Northern Gaels 7-10. Well done to the players, Kenny Higgins, Feichin McCormack and the rest of the coaching team from all of us here at St. Paul's GFC Clonmellon.

A positive display from our U-14's despite defeat
The St. Pauls-Delvin U-14 footballers made the trip over to the Downs last Sunday morning to take on the home team in round 2 of the Championship and it was another great display from our lads that are getting stronger since their opening game defeat against St Mary's Rochfortbridge the week before. The lads ended the first half with our goalie Senan saving a penalty to keep only a goal between the two teams at half time. We hit the crossbar twice in second half and the Downs goalkeeper pulled off two very good saves to earn themselves the points for the game. In the end the scoreline read The Downs 2-10 St. Pauls-Delvin 1-9 . Well done to the players and their coaches on a gallant performance against one of the stronger teams in the competition. Next up for our U-14's is a round 3 clash with Tyrellspass this coming Thursday evening in Delvin - the best of luck to all.
The St. Pauls-Delvin squad on the day was as follows:
Senan O'Driscoll, Oisin Kiernan, Aaron Fenlon, Anthony Mulvaney, Oisin Kelly, Jamie Reilly, Kieran Daly, Conor Rennicks, Oisin O'Neill, Jody Browne, Scott Reid, Rohan Morley, Ryan Forde, Mark Cully, Tom Flynn, Eoghan Hanlon, Seb McPhearson, Dean Quinn, Diarmuid Reilly, Thomas Collins.

Our U-8's under the guidance of coaches Johnny McGuinness and James Moore hosted a blitz last Saturday morning where we had teams visiting from Killucan and Coralstown/Kinnegad. We played Killucan twice and although we were beaten our lads played some excellent football. Well done to the players and their coaches on the day.

Our U-10's make the trip over to Shandonagh this Tuesday, July 18th for a blitz.

Our U-12's take on The Downs this coming Wednesday, July 12th at 7pm.

Training continues every Monday evening for our U-6, 8, 10 and U-12 teams from 7-8pm in Clonmellon.

St. Pauls GFC would like to thank David Sheridan of the Darnley Lodge Hotel Athboy for sponsoring a new set of Jerseys for our U-12 football team. Thanks again David for your continuing support of St. Pauls GFC Clonmellon.
