Final League Game V Ballycomoyle

St Joseph's played Ballycomoyle in our final league game of the season in Streamstown on Thursday 15 June and unfortunately lost by 3-11 to 1-7. Our league aspirations had ceased after the one point loss to Shandonagh a couple of weeks ago so a largely experimental line out took the field on Thursday. Played in blustery conditions we faced the wind and hill in the opening half and played good in the opening quarter but two goals in quick succession changed matters as Ballycomoyle led by 2-9 to 1-0 at half time. The second half was an improvement but we didn't utilise the conditions until too late and overall it was a disappointing result. Nevertheless the league has been useful to St Josephs with results far better than the past few years and we certainly will be competitive in the championship this year. We were due to play the same opposition on Saturday 24th June in the Junior Cup but on the day Ballycomoyle could not field and we received a walkover on the day which was a surprise. However, it does leave us in the cup semi final which will be in a couple of weeks time.

Yearly Lotto Renewals

Renewals for yearly lotto will be issued over next two weeks.

We are trying to streamline the renewals to the beginning of July as it will be easier to keep track of as time goes on. This means that a number of our yearly subscribers will get a bonus week from their current subscription due to the later renewal date. Jackpot is now €5700 for next draw on Monday 26th  June. Renewals are €50 for one set of lines and €100 for three sets of lines. The Lotto is a vital part of our funding for the year and we do appreciate all your support each year for the draw.

Under 14 League

Kilbeggan/St Josephs Boys under 14 team lost out on a league title last week when going under to Moate all whites in their final game. The year has been very good for our Under 14s but they found Moate too strong on the evening and runners up in the Division is no bad achievement.
