St. Pauls Clothes Collection

The St. Pauls clothes collection to help raise funds for the club is soon coming to an end. Get rid of all that unwanted clobber you have around the house such as clothes, shoes, towels, curtains and bed linen. Bag it all in refuse sacks and bring it down to the club grounds any Monday evening from 6:30-7:30pm or any Friday night from 7pm to 9pm where we will convert it into some much needed funds for the club.

Club Lotto

Please support our Club Lotto as this supports the day to day costs of running the club. Club lotto envelopes can be got from any of the local shops and pubs, at Bingo on Monday nights or from any of the committee members. The Lotto draw takes place every Monday night during bingo in the local Community Centre. The Cost is just €2 a ticket. Currently the Jackpot stands at €2,290. There was no winners of last week's jackpot, 20 euro winner on the night were Avril Ashe, Tossie Higgins and Keith Connell, well done to all.

Results

Well done to our U-12's who traveled up to Syddan in County Meath to play them in a challenge last week. Our lads played some great football in an evenly matched game and managed to come away with the win. Well done again to the players and coaches involved and thanks to Syddan GFC for having us on the night.

The combined Northern Gaels team of St. Pauls, Ballycomoyle and Delvin made the trip down to Moate on Monday evening last to take on the home team in the league. With the lads out of the running for league honours wholesale changes were made to the starting 15 with some of the less experiences members of the squad getting some valuable game time which is commendable by our coaches. In the end the home team proved too strong for our lads where the final score on the night read Moate All White 3-08 Northern Gaels 1-05. Well done to all who made the trip down to Moate for the game.

Hard Luck

Hard luck to the Clonmellon National School Hurling team who lost out in yesterday evenings Cumann na nBunscoil final payed in Cusack Park. The lads can be proud of their achievements on getting to the final and who knows; next year they might go one step further. Well done again lads and to their coaches Ms McCormack, Ms Browne & Ms Darby from all of us here at St. Pauls GFC Clonmellon.

Commerisations to the ladies Intermediate football team who lost out to the Downs on Sunday evening last in the 1st round of the Championship. Intermediate football in this part of the county doesn't come around every day and these girls already have more football medals in their back pocket than their male counterparts. So keep the heads up girls, it's a steep learning curve but ye will get there......we're behind you all the way!
