"I can't understand it because there was no break in play but that's the way the referee interprets it."

Referee Seamus Mulvihill's time-keeping in the Kerry SFC final left South Kerry manager John Sugrue scratching his head.

"I suppose it is (relief) when you pull something out of the death but, look it, we're still in a final and we're looking forward to it."

Jamie O'Sullivan's late point gave manager Peter Keane and Legion a second bite at the cherry.

"We got off to a great start, getting the goal early in those conditions."

Stephen Rochford's Corofin side netted six goals past St Mary's of Sligo.

"It was a complete and utter disgrace that Stradbally had to play here tonight. The Waterford County Board should be ashamed of themselves from top to bottom."

Stradbally's Pat Curran vented his anger after this players were forced to face Nemo Rangers just 23 hours after winning the county title.

"It was very unfortunate on Stradbally. I thought it was pretty poor form that they had to play the following night. I don't think anyone in this country would have been able to do it."

Nemo manager Stephen O'Brien sympathised with Stradbally's plight.

"It was serious going (to score 10 points without reply) but that was in the team and it hadn't come out all year."

Denis Walsh took his hat off to his Ballygunner players following their semi-final win over Glen Rovers.

"We never really got going, they were winning all the ball. The ball was dirty, but they were coming out of it most of the time. That was the winning of the game."

Glen Rovers selector Des Cullinane had no excuses.

"There was a strong breeze there, we went in at half-time a point ahead, and if we'd taken our chances we probably would have been a few more ahead."

Paddy Keenan and St Patrick's ran Ballyboden close in Drogheda.

"Anybody who knows their football wouldn't think we are going to come to Drogheda and walk over St Pat's. Nothing here came as a surprise."

Ballyboden boss Andy McEntee didn't take the Louth champions for granted.

"I wasn't sorry to hear John Keane's whistle - that's for sure."

Craughwell manager Stephen Glennon settled for the draw in the Galway SHC final.

"We're happy to be still in the championship."

Sarsfields selector Frances Madden focused on the positive.
