New initiative launched by Waterford GAA

The Waterford County Board have announced a new partnership deal to promote health and wellbeing across the county.

Along with Genzyme, the Waterford GAA board hope to promote awareness of the services and support that exist for those experiencing issues such as addiction, depression and mental illness.

Speaking at the launch, chairman of the committee Michael O'Regan said through the Waterford News & Star that the programme was dealing with a very important issue.

"We're delighted that Genzyme have come on board and we have a fabulous committee set up. It's looking after a very important topic and it's close to everyone's heart out there," said O'Regan.

"We would hope that over the next couple of years that people will see the great work we are doing."
