Waterford manager Derek McGrath rates Maurice Shanahan's chances of being fit to face Cork next month as 50-50.
The Deise forward suffered severe bruising to his knee during the first-half of Lismore's club fixture against Cappoquin on Sunday night.
McGrath informed The Irish Daily Star: "There's no torn cruciate or medial ligament damage, he has severe bruising on the knee.
"He would have to be rated at best 50-50 at the moment for the Cork game.
"A cruciate has been ruled out thankfully."
