Waterford footballer Liam Lawlor thought his inter-county career was over until he got a phone call from Tom McGlinchey.
The Waterford senior football manager called Lawlor back into the squad after a six-year absence and he played an influential role as the Decies defeated Cork in the McGrath Cup semi-final.
At 29, Lawlor could have been forgiven for thinking that his inter-county career was well and truly over, but he is determined to make the most of the recall.
Speaking to the Waterford News & Star he said: "I love the county jersey and I will never turn down the opportunity. I was over the moon when Tom range me to represent the county again.
"To be honest with you, he is an absolute gentleman and I have loved my time working with him so far. I just hope that we can be successful this year and get out of Division 4."
