Waterford 1-15

Limerick secured a win in their first competitive outing of the new year at Waterford's expense in Kilmallock today.

The home side overturned a one point half-time deficit courtesy of an own goal by Shane Fives in the 51st minute which swung the tie in Limerick's favour.

The visitors were quick out of the traps and Jake Dillon's 22nd minute goal parachuted them into a 1-5 to 0-3 lead.

Adrian Breen cancelled out that green flag on the stroke of half-time, however, and TJ Ryan's charges trailed by the bare minimum - 1-7 to 1-8 - at the break.

Fives' own goal handed Limerick the initiative and they held on to set up a semi-final encounter against UCC next weekend.
