Cork will meet Waterford, while UCC will face IT Tralee in the semi-finals of the McGrath Cup next weekend.

Donncha O'Connor scored 1-4 in the first half - his goal coming from an 18th minute penalty - as holders Cork defeated Tipperary by 1-14 to 0-12 in Clonmel.

UCC look to be in rude health ahead of their Sigerson Cup defence after they defeated Limerick by 4-16 to 3-9 at Rathkeale. A Seanie Buckley hat-trick of goals helped the home side to a 3-6 to 2-8 lead 10 minutes into the second half, but the students hit back with 1-1 from man of the match Thomas Hickey and a further 0-2 from Conor Horgan to run out winners.

Meanwhile, new Waterford manager Tom McGlinchey made it two wins from two in Clashmore where his side got the better of Cork IT on 1-11 to 0-9 scoreline.

The students had recovered from a two-point interval deficit to take a one-point before sub Lorcan O Curraoin's 60th minute goal set the Deise up for the win.
