Convention set to be interesting fare

December 17, 2014

Three of the main positions on the Waterford GAA executive will be contested at tomorrow night's (Thursday) convention.

The positions of chairman, treasurer and Central Council delegate will all be contested on the night and these are certainly going to take the majority of attention.

Former county board chairman Paddy Joe Ryan, former Eastern Board secretary and chairman of many years, Tim O'Byrne are all going forward for the main position.

Western Board Treasurer John Jackson brought in a surplus of over €12,000 to the divisional Convention last week and he challenges outgoing County Treasurer Joe Cleary of Abbeyside/Ballinacourty for the position.

Central Council delegate will be contested between outgoing County Chairman Tom Cunningham of Stradbally, former County Chairman and outgoing Munster Council delegate Pat Flynn of Passage and former Munster Council delegate Tommy Hennessy of Kill.
