Teams battle it out for semi final spots

September 03, 2014

There are two senior hurling championship quarterfinals down for decision this weekend.

Defending champions Passage put their title on the line against an emerging Dungarvan side in what could be a very tight affair indeed at Fraher field on Saturday evening.

Passage have improved as the campaign has gone on and they seem to be hitting the form that earned them a first ever title last year, but Dungarvan have come on a lot since their county final defeat to De La Salle in 2012.

In the other quarterfinal, De La Salle will be favourites to see off Tallow and progress to the last four. The sides meet on Friday night at Fraher Field.

Another match in the senior hurling championship sees Ardmore and Fourmilewater clash in the relegation playoff at Fraher Field on Thursday night.

Fourmilewater should have enough in the tank to win this one, but Ardmore will not want to make a quick return to the intermediate ranks for next year.
