Decies to discuss manager's role

August 20, 2014

The Waterford County Board are to discuss the vacant senior football manager's position with representatives of the county panel.

The players have requested that the County Board urge outgoing manager Niall Carew to reverse his decision to quit the role following his resignation last week.

Carew and the county board are believed to have already discussed the year in great detail and after two years at the helm, he has decided to step down.

Whether or not the county board will approach Carew again to see would he be interested in changing his mind remains to be seen, but the players have voiced their opinion and they want the former Kildare selector to stay.
