Waterford manager Derek Lyons says Kilkenny will be fresher than his side for Sunday's All-Ireland MHC semi-final.
Since the Noresiders turned the tables on Dublin in the Leinster minor final, Lyons' charges have contested two Munster finals and an All-Ireland quarter-final.
Lyons points out that the defending All-Ireland champions have had a testing run-in to this weekend's penultimate-round clash:
"We've had a lot of hard games the last number of weeks," he notes in The Irish Examiner. "I'm conscious now that Kilkenny will be coming in a lot fresher than us.
"I think it will be five weeks to the day since they played the Leinster final whereas we have played three hard games in that period. Some of them then played club games within a couple of days of the All-Ireland quarter-final.
"The focus has been on freshness and trying to work on a couple of areas of the game where we found we were weak the last day."
