Munster champions Tipperary have six players on our hurling team of the week...

1. Andrew Fahy (Clare)

Kept a clean sheet as the Banner County finished with four points to spare over their next door neighbours.

2. Cathal Barrett (Tipperary)

There are not too many forwards who can claim to have come out on top against the Tipp defender this year.

3. Matthew O'Hanlon (Wexford)

The Model County march on to an All-Ireland SHC quarter-final clash with Waterford thanks to their morale-boosting win over Cork.

4. Cian Dillon (Clare)

Galway stand between Clare and a place in the last four of this year's Liam MacCarthy Cup race.

5. Eoin Moore (Wexford)

Moore was a central figure in Wexford's first championship win over the Rebels since 1956.

6. Diarmuid Byrnes (Limerick)

Last year's All-Ireland U-21 winning captain took the fight to Clare in the second-half and raised three white flags.

7. Padraic Maher (Tipperary)

Along with his younger brother Ronan, Maher proved to be the rock on which many a Waterford attack perished.

8. Brendan Maher (Tipperary)

The hard work starts now for the Premier County captain and his team-mates as they turn their attention to the All-Ireland series.

9. Michael Breen (Tipperary)

Tipp bossed the midfield exchanges and a return of 1-1 represented a solid afternoon's work from Breen.

10. Podge Collins (Clare)

The dual star underlined his worth to the hurlers' cause with a top class display against Limerick and featured as a substitute for the footballers 24 hours later.

11. Lee Chin (Wexford)

Cork struggled to cope with Chin's drive and he finished with four points to his credit.

12. Luke O'Farrell (Cork)

No finger of blame for the Rebel County's defeat can be pointed in the direction of the half-forward who found the target with three points from play.

13. John McGrath (Tipperary)

The Loughmore-Castleiney clubman won't forget yesterday's Munster SHC final in a hurry as he helped himself to 3-2 against Waterford.

14. Seamus Callanan (Tipperary)

There had been question marks over the fitness of Callanan prior to throw-in but he showed no ill-effects when shooting 1-11 (0-9 from placed balls).

15. Conor McDonald (Wexford)

The accuracy of McDonald, who accumulated 0-13, was a highlight of Liam Dunne's charges long overdue success over Cork.
