"Unless we build on it, it's no good. It's pointless unless we prepare ourselves as best we possibly can, and be as good as good as we possibly can be in Mullingar."

After yesterday's long overdue Leinster SFC win, Offaly boss Pat Flanagan is aiming to put one over his former Westmeath charges in the quarter-final.

"Disappointed. We certainly didn't come down here to get beaten by such a large margin. We had a good few chances, but on the day Offaly were the better team, no doubt about that."

Longford have no excuses according to Denis Connerton.

"I'm not as quick to get out to it as I used to. It was a bad, bad mistake but thankfully the boys dug me out of a hole."

A mistake by Offaly captain and goalkeeper Alan Mulhall gifted Barry McKeon a first-half goal.

"It's great for the Offaly supporters as well, they haven't had much to cheer about over the last couple of years."

Niall McNamee and is team-mates rewarded the Faithful County supporters' patience.

"It's not David and Goliath, it's probably David and Goliath's bigger brother!"

Laois manager Mick Lillis is well aware of the task that now awaits them against Dublin.

"Last year we played nine games and two games in the summer. Today again we're away again - away twice last year. I'm banging on the drum, and I'll keep banging it, and if I have to go over and knock on Paraic Duffy's door, I'll knock on his door. But at the end of the day, how long is it going to continue?"

Wicklow football won't improve under the current championship structure warns Johnny Magee.

"We certainly had a major power cut in the second-half and that is something that needs seriously addressed. You cannot allow a team to score five consecutive scores. How often are you eight points up in that situation? No, we have a lot to work on, but we will relish the challenge."

Fermanagh have plenty of room for improvement ahead of their Ulster SFC quarter-final date with Donegal says Pete McGrath.

"There's no point trying to gloss over it, we just didn't turn up in the first-half. We were very poor and you can't play Ulster Championship matches for 20 minutes and expect to win."

Manager Frank Fitzsimons pinpointed where it all went wrong for the Saffrons in Brewster Park.

"There was a lot of mistakes made there but we've a number of weeks now to get it right and I'm sure that with a lot of hard work we'll be ready for Ballybofey."

Tomas Corrigan is confident of producing a better showing against Donegal.

"To kick 2-24 any day is good shooting. We had the capability of running up those scores in a couple of national league matches and for one reason or another it didn't happen. But today, the lads had the sun on their back, the ability the lads had shone through."

Wee County boss Colin Kelly hopes his players remember to bring their shooting boots when they take on neighbours Meath.
