Jonathan Glynn is the big name in the New York football panel for Sunday week's Connacht SFC first round clash with Roscommon in Gaelic Park.

One of the stars of Galway's run to last year's All-Ireland hurling final, Glynn has been based in the Big Apple since the end of last year and has been training with Justin O'Halloran's panel for the past few months. The Galway connection doesn't end there as team captain Johnny Duane has also been named in the 40-man squad.

Indeed, Duane lined out against the Exiles last year when Galway opened their championship campaign with an emphatic 2-18 to 0-8 victory. Gerard McCartan is vice-captain, while last year's captain Keith Scally is involved once more after taking time out to travel.
