Paraic Duffy says the GAA and AFL are currently exploring the possibility of bringing the International Rules series to the US.

Ireland take on Australia this evening at Croke Park for the 19th time in the series' history and the Association's director general yesterday confirmed that both parties are looking at the possibility of moving the series across the Atlantic.

"We're looking at the possibility of playing a game in the United States, possibly in New York," Duffy told RTE Sport.

"The commitment on both sides is set to continue and we'll look at all possibilities, including reverting to a two-game series."

Earlier this week Australia manager Alastair Clarkson mooted the possibility of a tri-series, which would see Ireland, Australia and a USA selection all playing tests against each other.

"We really want to showcase our game to the world. If we could take it to the eastern side of America then that would be really exciting," said Clarkson.
