Dublin are set to appeal the red card shown to star attacker Diarmuid Connolly on Sunday.

The St Vincents clubman was dismissed in injury time at the end of the drawn All-Ireland semi-final at Croke Park when he became embroiled in a trademark GAA wrestling match on the ground with Mayo wing back Lee Keegan, who was yellow-carded.

As things stand, Connolly is set to miss Saturday's replay as he will receive an automatic one-match ban for the late sending-off.

Even though television replays clearly show the Dublin forward striking his opponent, chairman Sean Stanley says he "would assume" that the Leinster champions will seek a hearing. They will also contest the black cards shown to midfielders Michael Darragh MacAuley and Denis Bastick.
