The playoff picture is coming into focus following last weekend's action in Boston. Exciting finishes saw Galway keep their hopes alive in the senior football championship with an injury time winner from Kevin Cummins, ending Kerry's interest in the championship. Wolfe Tones squeaked past Christopher's, barely surviving a second half rally, while the Connemara Gaels put in a great performance to overcome Donegal's challenge. At least 7 points will be needed to remain in the running once the regular season ends in two weeks, and it could come down to the final game between Galway and the Gaels to determine who is in and who is out.
Tipperary looked impressive as they demolished Fr. Tom Burkes in the senior hurling championship. In fairness Tom's looked as though they were waiting for the final whistle for the last 20 minutes of the game. However that it got to that point speaks for itself. It is still all to play for to make the semi-final places between Galway, Tom's, and Wexford heading into the last few weeks.
Cork have it all to do in junior hurling having fallen by a point to Donegal, another injury time victory with the score coming from Ciaran Diver, and will be hoping for other results to go their way to have a chance at the semi-finals in their last game. Connemara Gaels and Aidan McAnespies are both in, as are Donegal, with Cork and the Tones looking for the final spot.
Fr. Tom's are the only team without a loss in junior A hurling, while for junior C it is Portland with the hundred percent record, followed by the Barley House Wolves. A lot to be decided over the next 3 weeks!
