Cavan 3-13
New York 0-11
Cavan made it two wins from as many outings at New York's expense to claim the silverware in the Mick Higgins Memorial Series in Gaelic Park yesterday.
Terry Hyland's men followed up their narrowed 1-15 to 0-15 opening game win with a more comprehensive 11 point victory over Ian Galvin's charges.
Goals from Martin Reilly (2) and Martin Dunne laid the platform for the visitors' success.
Dunne's 34th minute strike put some daylight between the sides and helped establish a 1-6 to 0-4 interval lead for the team in blue and white.
Further points from the full-forward (two frees), Dara McVeety and Barry Reilly extended the Breffni's lead after the resumption before Reilly slotted home a penalty in the 48th minute to give them a 2-10 to 0-5 cushion.
Goal number three arrived in the 62nd minute when Reilly finished off a pass from Cian Mackey.
Former Wexford star PJ Banville, meanwhile, finished as joint top-scorer for the Keith Scally captained New York with three pointed frees alongside substitute Johnny McGeeney.
