The North American finals - a great success

Junior C Hurler Michael Dufault best summed up the 2014 North American Finals in Boston after his Worcester team won their first ever national title.

'I only started playing two years ago' said an emotional Michael. 'I'm just proud to be part of Worcester Hurling Club. It's pretty unbelievable, it's just amazing'.

Michael's story delighted GAA President Liam O'Neill who attended the three-day festival of Gaelic games. 'I'd be really heartened by the Junior teams and the teams comprised of people who were born here and who took up our games'.

President-Elect Aogan Farrell and Camogie President Aileen Lawlor also attended, while NACB Chairman Gareth Fitzsimons paid tribute to Boston GAA for hosting the Finals.

Other contributors to this report include Joe Duffy and Benny Higgins from Ulster Club San Francisco, James Skehill with Galway Boston, Lisa Brick from Boston Tir na nOg, and Dallas pair Paul Donnelly and Kevin McCann.
