Donegal NY Juniors Battle Into League Final

May 20, 2014
Donegal NY's Junior B team fought their way into the League Final Monday evening pulling out a hard-fought 2 point win over Rangers at Gaelic Park. With the two sides knotted at 6 points each when the half-time whistle blew both teams knew they were in a classic battle. The first stanza saw no bookings or cards of any color, a clear indication of the quality of play. Rangers took the lead after the interval and at one time had Donegal's measure by 6 points. Then the game turned for good on two grand goals by Donegal sub Full Forward Brendan Grant. Thanks to sparkling play by veterans forwards Kevin Lilly and Antoin O Duibher and backs Brian Giveney, Jack Donnelly, Tommy Moran, and Stephen Cunningham, Donegal hung on to finish 2-10 to 1-11. The absence of cards continued in the second half. Donegal will face Rockland on Thursday ay 630 pm for the Junior B League crown.
