McLaughlin takes Donegal NY reins

December 11, 2013
Buncrana native Keelan McLaughlin has assumed the chairmanship of the Donegal Gaelic Football Cub New York, succeeding Laurence McGrath, who has served a total of 12 years at the helm. McGrath continues as Vice Chairman of the New York Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association and takes on the post of Treasurer of the Donegal Club.

Backing up McLaughlin are two Vice Chairmen, Frank "the Chief" Molloy (of the Ardara football clan) and St. Michael's James McFadden.

Recording Secretary Mary Grant; P.R.O. & Corresponding Secretary Ira Goldman; and Chaplain Fr. Paul O'Donnell Duggan continue in the posts they have held for more than a decade.

Both Donegal teams reached the NY GAA Semi-Finals in 2013 and for 2014 will remain under the outstanding leadership of Pat McGill as Senior Manager and Molloy as Junior Manager. Backstopping McGill again is Denis Shannon. Mike Hegarty takes over as Junior Assistant from CJ Molloy. Paddy Curtis will train both panels for the 2014 campaign. Veteran Donegal NY player Tommy Moran joins the back room as Selector.

Long-time club officer Tommy Lilly and Frank Molloy are the NY GAA delegates, with McGrath and McLaughlin as alternates.
