St Clarets GFC London club notes

September 12, 2016

Our senior team have it all to do again next Saturday after extra time couldn't separate themselves with Tir Chonaill Gaels in Sunday's semi final. The game could've gone either way with both teams holding the lead for different periods throughout but ultimately a few moments of poor defending and wasted chances cost us. However, we're still in the competition and Saturday's replay will take place in Greenford at 3pm.

Congratulations to Aidan and Conor Bradshaw who celebrate their 18th Birthday today.

Youth Update

A massive congratulations to our St Clarets Girls teams for winning the U16s shield at the JJFrench girls tournament on Saturday. This is a fantastic achievement for our girls team and even though the day didn't quite start off to plan they battled through to the end to receive our first piece of silverware. We are so delighted for the girls and so proud of them as they have worked so hard over the last 3 years and are consistent in their attendance at training and they so rightly received their just rewards on Saturday. We would like to thank Lucia Butler and Tara GFC for the invitation to this event. The friendship and warm welcome received on the day is fantastic and we look forward to next year's event. A special thank you to all the parents who braved it through the rain all day and supported the girls to the end.

The team was: Chloe Enright (C), Kiera Hedger, Leona Enright, Megan Jarrett, Lily McNulty, Tara Sheridan, Sabina Reddin, Maura O'Leary, Jemma McNulty & Ciara Hession.

On Saturday also our U14s team took to the field early in the day and successfully defeated North London Shamrocks in the league semi-final. We are now through to the league final against Thomas McCurtains, date tbc. The U14s are a great bunch of lads and we have some great talent amongst the squad, they are a great credit to the club on and off the pitch. The team was: Oisin Murphy (C), Joe Murphy, Aaron Myers, Cormac Sibley, Szymon Reddin, Liam McNulty, Stefon Biondi, Thomas O'Halloran, Kian O'Halloran, Harry O'Leary, Joey Holden, Patrick Woulfe & Liam Hession

We would like to say thank you to all the brothers that stayed on after their match to support their sisters in the girls tournament. It was great to see them cheering on the girls.
