Harlesden Harps club notes

February 05, 2016

Practise match: Harlesden Harps will have their first run out of the season this Saturday 06th of February against the newly formed Irish Guards (Gardaí Éireannach). This game will serve as a training match for the Harps to prepare for their upcoming Cavan trip. Throw in for the game is at 3pm. In order to have a proper warm up, aim to get there for 2pm: Cavalry Barracks, Beavers Lane, Hounslow, TW4 6HD. The ground is a 10 minute walk from Hounslow West on the Piccadilly line.

Cavan Trip: The club has organised a trip to Drung in Co Cavan on the weekend of 04/05/06 March 2016 for all players and supporters. As the club has had many close Cavan links throughout the years, this trip offers a chance for a memorable get together. We will also play a practise match against the local Drung team which offers us a chance to shake off any cobwebs from the off season and to test ourselves against new opposition. Anyone interested in going on the trip, and has yet to confirm and/or pay the £220 associated costs, should contact Tony O Halloran (tel: 07773336974) asap as numbers need to be finalised.

Training: For current players training starts back this coming Thursday the 28th of January at The Pavilion, Hillside, Stonebridge, NW10 8LW. The venue is a short walk from Harlesden Tube Station. Any new players wishing to "play a bit a ball" are very welcome to come along every Thursday at 19:00 where we can also try our best to help with any accommodation or work needs.
We will also be organising challenge games on 06/02 and 20/02 in order to get the team in shape for the upcoming trip to Cavan, a good chance to stake an early season claim for a team starting place!

Trainer: A warm welcome to Paudí O Donnell from Clare who is helping out with training for the team this year.
