St Kiernan's captain Kieran Finn believes that Sunday's London SFC final will be a close affair.

Defending champions Tir Chonaill Gaels are favourites to win their 16th SFC title, while their opponents are seeking their first at this level.

And Finn stressed to the Irish Post that whoever can raise a green flag in the final should come out as champions.

"We've got great respect for the Gaels, and they'll probably go in as favourites, but it's going to be pretty tight - I think goals will win it," said Finn.

The captain added that an early season Tipperary Cup final win over TCG will count for nothing at Ruislip on Sunday afternoon.

"I wouldn't read a lot into that to be honest. The championship is what both teams have had their eye on the entire year, and they beat us in the earlier rounds of it. That certainly hurt us."
