London Youth Committee notes

July 27, 2015

The next meeting London Youth Committee meeting will take place on Wednesday the 9th of September at 8 30pm at The Irish Tv GAA Grounds, West End Road, Ruislip, HA4 6QX and meetings will continue to be on the third Monday of every month. We would like to have representatives from all clubs around London at our Youths meetings to share views and ideas with all London clubs. We work together for the betterment of our future young Gaels.

Sympathies go out to the families of Lillian Sullivan (Cousin of Michéal Sullivan) and Neil McGroathy (Brother of Mary Redican) both from the Tara GFC. May their gentle souls Rest In Peace.

Get well wishes to Tom O' Connor from Tir Chonaill Gaels wishing him a speedy recovery.

The London GAA Development Squad

The London GAA Development Squad had mixed fortunes last weekend in the Provincial Championship Finals with the U-16's acquitting themselves very well but just coming up short while the U-18's put in a tremendous performance to emerge victorious. This now concludes the season for the U-18's and we wish them every success for the future as they advance into adult football and hope they will continue to blossom and go on to have great careers in Gaelic Football.

The U-16's will continue their season as we will be bringing the squad over to the Dermot Earley Tournament in Ballyhaunis, Co.Mayo on September 5th. Preparations will continue with training in Greenford on Wednesday, July 29th at 7.00 p.m.

ALL PLAYERS are asked to be in attendance for 6.45 p.m. and it is imperative that a parent make contact with us if their son is unable to attend any session. There is a training squad of 35 players that has been named for the next 6 weeks but only 20 players will be going to Ireland so there will be great competition for places. All 35 players are asked to pay £20 to cover the cost of running the Development Squad and we would greatly appreciate if the payers could bring this with them on Wednesday evening.

The following players have been selected for the U-16 London Development Training Squad:

From Parnells is Ciaran O'Donoghue, Matthew McHugh, Kieran Rice, Joshua Obahor, Daniel Maguire, Andrew Gilroy, Ricardo Estevez, Michael Walsh, Lewis Dickinson.
