Tir Chonaill Gaels Club Notes

July 20, 2015

Seniors
Seniors put in a solid performance against the Kiernans on Saturday in Ruislip. The lads controlled the game from the start and won in convincing style, final score 3-14 to 2-04.  Next up are the North London Shamrocks on Tuesday evening in Tottenhall and the Kingdom on Saturday in Ruislip at 6pm.

Juniors
The Juniors were in action on Sat evening in Ruislip V St Clarets in Ruislip and were beat by a better team in the evening. A slow start cost the boys who regrouped and were much better in the 2nd half.

All British Feile's (ABCs)
Congratulations to all involved last weekend which was another great advertisement for underage gaelic football in Britain and was enjoyed by young and old alike. Special guests were Sam Maguire and Liam McCarthy along with Uactaran CLG Aoghan O Farrell. Special thanks to club members who gave up their time to help out over the weekend.

Best wishes
We all have Tom O'Connor in our thoughts as he battles a bout of ill health at the minute, we hope to see him back at Pairc Tír Chonaill in the not to distant future.

Sympathy
The club extends its sympathies to the family of the late Paddy Joe Gallagher who passed away peacefully on the 9th of July at his home in Watford. Paddy was originally from Ardara in Donegal and played football for the county in 1948, he played for Tir Chonaill Gaels in the early years from 1962 onwards. Funeral mass on Wednesday 22nd July at 12pm in the Holyrood Church, Market St, Watford.
May he rest in peace.

Quiz
There will be a quiz in the clubhouse this coming Friday night 25th July. This is being held in conjunction with our members that are undertaking a charity ride across Ulster in September. It is £40 a table with a 8.30 meet for a 9pm start. Please come along and enter a team which will be a good nights craic.

London Development Squads
Well done to our members who represented London in the U16s and Minors at the weekend at the provincial finals in Oxfordshire. The U16's were beaten while the minors took home the bacon.

Conal Vaughan, Sean Rice, Conor Redmond, Danial O Connell and Daniel Nugent represented the 16s, while Conor McCarthy and Brendan Rice represented the Minors and well done to Conal Vaughan stepping up as back-up goal keeper.
