Dulwich Harps 2-08
Thomas McCurtans 0- 7

Dulwich mens made the long trek to North London Saturday to play a strong Thomas Mccurtains side in the first round of the championship.

Dulwich lost the toss and played against a strong breeze in the first half, Dave and Micky dominated the early exchanges in midfield and gave Dulwich a great platform to create numerous attacks against a strong breeze. Dulwich dominated the early exchanges but couldn't capitalise until Ryan Morgan slotted over for the opening score. McCurtains then replied with two points of there own before captain Shane Slattery made a storming run through the centre to kick a fine point to make honors even, in fact this was the last time McCurtains would be in front. The Dulwich defence were like men possessed all day and showed endless energy as they continually carried the ball into the opposition half with Conor McHugh playing a blinder as the sweeper in the defence. Keith Lynn pops up with another score before a long ball down the touch line from McCurtains is almost cut out by the covering McHugh who collides with the man and the ref reaches for the black card, a big loss for the lads but dealt with admirably and the half time score was 5-3 in Dulwichs favour.

TMC started the half strongly and kicked the first score and although Dulwich were on top of possession were wasteful in the final third and kicked a few wides. A great save by Niall Russell was crucial at this stage to keep TMC out. A long ball was attempted into full forward Ronan Murtagh who fielded well and was pulled down in the box for a definite penalty which he coolly placed to the corner. Player manager Alan Grogan made an appearance with about 15 minutes to play with the game still tight. A shot come pass from Shane Rafferty was flicked on by Dave and Grogan finished to the net with his first touch. With the Dulwich defence in such fine form there seemed no way back for Mccurtains from here. Three more points from Murtagh, Ryan Brolly and Grogan were enough to seal the deal and an epic victory for the Harps.
