Mahon begins reign

November 21, 2014

London hurlers have trained for the first time under new manager Fergus McMahon.

The former Meath and London hurler takes over from Tommy Harrell who stepped down after one year in charge.

McMahon was captain of the London side that claimed the Nicky Rackard title in 2005, while he was also part of the Meath team that won the All-Ireland junior hurling title in 1999.

London played in the All-Ireland senior championship this year, but were relegated back to the Christy Ring Cup for 2015.

It is understood that former Clare hurler Bernard Gaffney and Galway's Ger Mahon have lined up with the squad this year.
