The club would like to thank Manchester Airport for awarding St Lawrence's GAA Club with the £1500 grant.
St Lawrence's Gaelic Football Club Manchester were awarded this summer £1500 from The Manchester Airport Community Trust Fund. The Manchester based Gaelic Football club provides Gaelic football for men, ladies and children in the south Manchester area and have been established since 1981. The club has developed since the 1980's and in 2013 established a Ladies team to accompany its successful Men's and Youth Teams.

With teams from Under 8's through to adult level, equipment was key on the clubs agenda and early this year the club applied to the registered charity; The Manchester Airport Community Trust Fund. The fund is a pot of cash partly generated from fines levied at aircraft that have breached the airport's stringent noise limits. Applications are considered four times a year by a board of Trustees from Manchester Airport as well as the local authorities. As a result, along with seven other community groups from the Trafford area, St Lawrence's GAA Club became successful applicants.

On receiving the award, the club put all the money towards purchasing equipment including cones, first aid kits, hoops, water bottles as well as the specialist equipment for Gaelic games; Goals, Footballs and flags.

Chairman of St Lawrence's Gaelic Football Club, Jimmy Wray said "We are very grateful for the grant and with our club growing strength to strength in numbers at both adult and youth level the money received will play dividends in our continuing success."

Based at Turn Moss Playing Fields in Stretford St Lawrence's Gaelic football club has strong links with local schools in the Stretford, Urmston, Chorlton, Sale and Altrincham area so receiving this award to buy additional equipment came to great use especially with the growing numbers playing Gaelic football.

St Lawrence's are always looking for more people to join the club so whether you are male or female, young or old, you are welcome to come and join one of the biggest Gaelic Football Clubs in the North West. Our Mens Teams train Tuesday's and Thursday's at 7.30PM, our Ladies train Tuesday's and Thursday's at 7PM and our youth Teams (U8-U18's) train 3PM on Saturday's.

The club would once again like to thank Manchester Airport for awarding St Lawrence's GAA Club with the £1500 grant.
