Our U16 lads travelled to Castlederg to play Newtownstewart in the Championship Quarter Final last Saturday, the 7th of October. We got off to a flying start after Micheal O'Neill hit the net after his penalty was initally saved. The young hoops were in control for the majority of the first half. Newtownstewart were struggling to score due to the strong performances from Cormac Mc Elvogue, Conall Fox and the rest of Killeeshils defence. Up front Michael Gormley and Cahill Rafferty were pulling Newtownstewarts defence apart with Mark Monaghan being the main link man. In the second half Newtownstewart started the stronger team but the young hoops didn't panic. Goalkeeper Sean Mc Elvogue got the defence organised and we began to regain control of the game. Killeeshil finished the half strong and pushed through to grab a well-deserved victory. Final score 3-6 to 1-10. We wish Odhran Kelly a speedy recovery after breaking his collar bone during the game!

 

Our U16 girls were narrowly beaten by Errigal Ciaran in the semi-final of the Championship at home, last Sunday (8th), where it took extra time to decide the winner, after a thrilling game. Hard luck girls.  

  

Training continues this week for our senior & reserve men on Tuesday (10th) at 7.30 pm as our men prepare for league games away to Owen Roes this Saturday (14th). Reserves is at 3 pm with senior game at 4.30 pm.

 

Good luck to Conor Mc Cool & Ciara Kelly who were selected from the 2017 Club Tyrone Summer Camps to participate in the half time games at the Tyrone County Finals on Sunday (15th) in Healy Park, Omagh.
