U6 & U8s:

Well done to our under 6 and under 8s at the blitz last Friday 12th May in Mick Neville park. Great to see big numbers at the blitzes from Killeedy,

U10s:

Training on Friday evenings at 6:30 in Tournafulla. Training also for U12s on Saturday morning at 10am.

 

U12s:

Fixture:: Thursday 18th May - Killeedy V Adare In Raheenagh at 6.45pm

 

U15s:

Result:: Monday 15th May - U15's County League. Killeedy1-2(5) Vs Croom2-7(13)

 

Declan Fitzgerald intercounty coach:

Last Sunday morning Declan Fitzgerald took a trainign session with out U14 and U16 in Raheenagh.

Saturday morning youth program

Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm to 7:30pm there's training for U6, U8, U10 & U12's. All children must have; hurley, helmet & bottle of water. All boys and girls are welcome. Helmets can also be ordered through the club at a cost of €50 but must be paid for at time of ordering. If you have any queries please feel free to contact either the club phone or your co-ordinator.

 

Gorm Agus Ban 6

Gorm agus Bán 6 will take place on Thursday 13th, Friday 14th and Saturday 15th July. This camp is for 4 to 14 year olds and registration will be taking place in the coming weeks. As usual all help will be greatly appreciated. Please contact any officer from Killeedy Bord Na Nóg or Camogie Club. We are really looking forward to another fantastic camp.

 

Summary of Hurling Skills

Under 6 & 8/ Infants­ 2nd Class

-Move athletically

-Grip the hurley with the strong hand on top

-Swing the hurley correctly (strong side)

-Swing the hurley correctly (weak side)

-Run and strike with correct swing (strong side)

-Run and strike with correct swing (weak side)

-Catch the ball with the weak hand

 

Under 10/3rd & 4th classes

-Move athletically

-Swing the hurley in both directions with correct swing

-Rise the ball using the roll lift

-Rise the ball using the jab lift

-Strike the ball from the hand (strong side)

-Strike the ball from the hand (weak side)

-Run and strike the ball from the hand (strong side)

-Run and strike the ball from the hand (weak side)

-Hook

 

Under 12/ 5th and 6th classes

-Move athletically

-Swing the hurley correctly in both directions

-Lift, catch and strike (both sides)

-Hand pass the ball

-Solo run

-Lift and strike (strong side)

-Catch the ball overhead with hurley used to protect catching hand

-Bat the ball

-Hook

 

Junior Bs:

Result:: Saturday 13th May - West Junior B Hurling League. Killeedy: 3-3(12) Vs Feohanagh: 1-14(17)

 

Johnny Magner Memorial Cup

Saturday 20th May at 7pm in Raheenagh. Killeedy play the 2016 All Ireland Junior B Hurling Champions, Shanballymore for the Inaugural Johnny Magner Cup. Free Admission for all.

Health and wellbeing committee

Nordic Pole Walking:

Come to Raheenagh on Wednesday nights from 7pm-8pm to try out Nordic Walking organised by our newly trained Walking Leader Joann Larkin. Nordic Walking is walking with special poles that gives a total body version of walking. Limerick Sports Partnership have agreed to give us 6 week training in the technique. A new initiative for Raheenagh.  Everyone welcome. Suitable for beginners.

Hillwalking Group:

Great to see local people making the most of the fantastic hillwalking routes in the Killeedy area.

Couch 2 5K:
