Tyrone's Tiernan McCann has broken his silence on that hair raising experience in last year's All-Ireland SFC quarter-final victory over Monaghan.

The Red Hands star went down like a sack of spuds at Croke Park after his hair was tousled by Darren Hughes.

The infamous incident has been recalled in recent days in the wake of Aidan O'Shea's theatrics against Fermanagh.

"Hindsight is a wonderful thing and we have all done stuff we would probably wished we hadn't, or done differently," McCann remarked to The Irish Independent at yesterday's All-Ireland football series launch in Abbotstown.

"That's life, it is something I have had to learn from and move on from.

"That was what I did last year and what I have had to carry through to 2016."
