Fermanagh and Tyrone GAA mourn 'Porry'

A fitting tribute to the late Pauric McGovern

Gaels in Fermanagh and Tyrone have been saddened by the death of Derrylin O'Connell's stalwart Padraig 'Porry' McGovern.

Padraig, who died on Saturday, played in goals for Derrylin for 40 years, winning junior and intermediate championship medals. He also represented Fermanagh at Masters level.

In recent years, he also had very close ties with Dromore GFC in neighbouring Tyrone.

As a mark of respect to 'Porry', his No.1 goalkeeper's jersey was hung on the gates of Derrylin's club grounds over the weekend. Members of the club also formed a guard of honour at his funeral and burial in the village this morning.
