The Tír Eoghain Scór Sinsear County Finals were held in the Dún Uladh Centre on Sunday evening last in front of a good sized audience and were treated to a wonderful display of our national culture.

This weekend was the turn of the adult members of Cumann Lúth-Chleas Gael to display their talents.

Omagh St Enda's put on their usual display of polished dancing to overcome the dancers of An Charraig Mhór and Killyclogher to capture the Rince Foirne title. The Amhránaíocht Aonair title was won by Killyclogher local, Hannah McGirr in a very competitive section with a host of other competitors close chasing closely behind. The recitation was won by Faolan Friel, who was following up on a title he also won at Scór na nÓg level. To complete the first half of the programme was the successful and extremely talented group from the Derrytresk club.

The second half opened with very competitive Ballad Group section comprising of six clubs. Local club, Killyclogher, claimed this title to add to their last success in 2011. The Léiriú competition was the battle between, in recent years, Clann na nGael and Omagh St Enda's. The Omagh team were to prove successful again. The Rince Seit title was won by the host club who, in recent times, have come to be recognised as the 'Sett Dance experts. To conclude the evening's entertainment was the popular Tráth na gCeist competition, with six of the top 'quizing clubs' in opposition to each other. The Kildress Wolfe Tones club proved successful on this occasion.

Medals were presented to the successful teams by the chairperson of the Culture and Language committee, Cliodhna Kerr.

A big congratulation to all the adults who took to the stage and give performances such as were presented at the finals. Now the clubs will have a hectic two weeks in front of them with the Ulster Semi Finals on this Saturday night, 13th February at 7.00 pm, in Glenullin. Competing counties will be - host county, Derry, Donegal, Down and Tír Eoghan.

Adjudications will be carried out by the remaining Ulster counties. First and second placed competitors will qualify for the finals. This will be followed very quickly by the Ulster Final on Saturday 20th February in St Patrick's High School, Downpatrick. The All Ireland Final, for the successful Ulster Champions, will be in INEC, Killarney on 2nd April.
Supporters should note that the Ulster Final is on 20th February and not on 20th March.
