Training resumes for U8/U10 girls on Monday evenings from 6-7pm and for U8/U10 & U12 boys on Thursday evenings from 7-8pm.

We hosted a very successful summer camp last week which was attended by over 130 children who all had an enjoyable few days football. Many thanks to all our coaches but special mention must be given to our highly efficient coordinator, Catriona McGahan who got wonderful assistance from Noel Loughran, Danuta McGahan and Dominic Donaghy.  Thanks also to Newell Stores who provided food.

The U12 girls  were away to Errigal Ciaran on Monday (3rd) and we made the short journey with a small number of players, due to a number of them being away on holiday. It was a tough first half playing against the strong breeze but the girls battled hard throughout and had a great second half with 6 different players getting scores on the board. Break from training now until next Wednesday 12th August.

The U12 boys travelled to Clonoe on Tuesday (4th) for their away fixture and kept their great run of wins going, fielding two even teams of 9 aside, both teams  were too strong for the home team running out winners in two very competitive games. Next outing is training on Thursday night.

Our under 16 lads played away game to Dungannon on Wednesday (29th) and continued their winning ways in Division 1A of the league. The young hoops took the initiative from the off and built up a good 1st half lead with points from Tomas Hoy, Cormac Donaghy, Matthew McCusker, Jason Doyle, Niall Loughran and Daniel Millar leaving them 0-12 to 0-3 up at the short whistle. In the second half they picked up where they left off in the 1st half and with an incredible rearguard action spearheaded by Shea Skeffington, Matty Joe McKenna and Jude Cunningham as they ran out convincing winners. Second half points from Liam Hughes, Louis Conlon, Ryan Doyle, another beauty from Matthew McCusker and a brave Cormac Donaghy goal left the final score line Killeeshil 1-21 Dungannon 1-6. The lads followed this up with another away game to Coalisland on Friday (31st) when they continued their rich vein of form with another well- deserved victory. The Fianna lads made it very difficult for the young hoops in the first half though a controversial penalty decision converted by Liam Hughes and a well taken goal by Tomas Hoy proved to be the difference going in at the break along with a crucial Michael Conlan save. Cormac Donaghy added a few points along with Tomas Hoy & Liam Hughes to leave the halftime score line Killeeshil 2-4 Coalisland 0-4. The lads regrouped well in the second half and began to play more controlled football that we have been used to seeing them play this year, Cormac Donaghy got among the goals along with another major from Tomas Hoy and further points from these men along with Liam Hughes, Danny Miller & Louis Conlan left the game out of reach for Coalisland. Yet again this 2nd half performance was built from a very solid midfield & defensive display that restricted Coalisland to just 1-2 in the 2nd half, final score-line 4-14 to 1-6.  Then on Tuesday  (4th) the lads had a home fixture v Moortown  when they kept up their good recent form with a hard fought victory in round 6 of the league. The lads got off to a dream start when Tomas Hoy found the net for the games 1st score early on and they tagged on another 5 points in the 1st half from Jason Doyle, Cormac Donaghy and Liam Hughes. They didn't have it all their own way though and Moortown battled gamely to leave it 1-4 to 1-5 in the young hoops favour at half time. The lads started the second half brightly and Ryan Doyle, Daniel Millar and Tomas Hoy had good scores to stretch the 2nd half lead. The defence was imperious form in the 2nd half lead by James Murray and Shea Skeffington with great assistance from Mattie McKenna and Jude Cunningham and held Moortown to just 2 second half points. Matthew McCusker and Daniel Millar continued to drive the team on from midfield and it was left to Tomas Hoy to have the final say of the day when he scored beautifully to cap a 1-12 to 1-6 score line. This was an all-round good display from the lads and it maintained their position at the top of the 1A table.  Next up for the young hoops is an away fixture v Ardboe on Friday 7th August at 7.30pm. Please go along support this talented team!

Our under 16 girls recorded their first win in the league against Dungannon and they are away to Cookstown on Tuesday 11th.

Our men's senior team made the long journey to Aghyaran on Friday evening for a league match.  Whilst we travelled with a depleted panel, hopes were high we could pick up some points but a very determined Aghyaran side scored some early goals to make it an uphill stuggle for Killeeshil and despite Shane Mallon scoring a penalty we could never catch the home team who ran out comfortable winners. Training this week is on Tuesday & Thursday at 730pm. We would like all players to please attend training. Next game is Reserve Championship on Friday 14th August V Galbally in Killeeshil.

On Friday 7th August our Senior Ladies play Carrickmore in the quarter finals of the Patrick Fahy & Co Solicitiors Senior Championship in Dunmoyle at 6.45 pm. All support much appreciated!

Gaelic training for Mothers and Others continues on Wednesday evening at 6.30 pm - this is be a fun based way of keeping (or getting) fit and a way of showing your kids that you too can dawn the Hoops Jersey. It's also a way of getting yourself out of the house and joining in a bit of craic with other Mums in the Club. It doesn't matter if you have never kicked a ball in anger before, it's all about the enjoyment.  Newcomers always welcome! If you're interested please call or text 07760432620.

Please check our facebook page for updates on all events!

Anybody in our club who would like to take up the whistle and become a referee please contact 07743418905 for more info. The club would like to encourage some members to take up the whistle as all new referees will attend a course and be given mentoring and will start to referee at youth level with a progression over time to senior level.

Plans are at an advanced staged now for the Clubs Summer Fundraiser as our Senior Ladies bring Internet Sensation " Rory's Stories " to the Centre on Saturday 22nd August for a night of GAA craic and banter. A great night guaranteed with music and a bar afterwards and maybe an oul burger to boot.  Tickets out soon and keep an eye on FB for more details.

Commiserations to our senior ladies Grainne Rafferty, Zoe Loughran and Emma Mulgrew who were all part of the Tyrone ladies senior panel defeated by Mayo at the weekend.

The club wishes the Tyrone Senior Men goodluck in their All-Ireland Quarter Final v Monaghan in Croke Park on Saturday.

Our thoughts and prayers are with any families in the area who are dealing with illness in their family at this time.
