Tyrone man Seamus Flanagan will be swapping allegiances on Saturday when his native county take on Sligo at Croke Park.

Originally from Omagh, Flanagan has been a lifelong Red Hands supporter but faces somewhat of a dilemma this weekend as his son Eoin is set to line out at left half-back for Sligo in the All-Ireland qualifier clash.

"When he got on to the panel I thought about what might happen, and who I would support if Sligo played Tyrone," the 58-year-old told the Gaelic Life.

"When the draw was made I said 'who am I going to support?' but someone said to me 'you can't lose'. It wasn't something that I had an awful lot of thought about. But I'll have to shout for Sligo."

Sligo boss Niall Carew drafted St John's club man Flanagan into his panel at the start of the season and he has since made the number seven jersey his own.

The Yeats men go into Saturday's showdown at Croker looking to repeat the feat of 2002 when they stunned Mickey Harte's team in the capital.
