A small piece of history was made in Thurles on Saturday when Sean Cavanagh became the first Tyrone man to make 76 championship appearances.
The 32-year-old three-time All-Ireland winner marked the occasion by kicking three points in the Red Hands' surprisingly comfortable 0-19 to 0-7 win over Tipperary.
"It was May 19, 2002," Cavanagh said of his championship debut against Armagh in the Irish Examiner.
"I ended up getting a lucky goal towards the end to draw it. I can remember almost every one of those 76 games. They have disappeared like a lightning bolt in the past 13 years."
