Tyrone manager Fergal Logan hailed his team's 'camaraderie and spirit' following their Ulster U-21 heroics against Donegal last night.

Daniel McNulty's injury-time free gave the Red Hands a slender 1-11 to 0-13 victory and, speaking to The Donegal Democrat afterwards, Logan admitted: "We were hanging in for extra-time to be honest.

"All the momentum was with Donegal and I thought we were totally on the ropes and out on our feet. They pegged us back and how they never got a score to go ahead I'll never know.

"We were the better team in the first half but we just couldn't get out to four. That made it a real tactical battle. Then they backed off our kick-outs totally - we had them in the pockets and picked them off coming forward - but then it was real cat and mouse stuff."

He continued: "We'd known from the start with this group that we've serious talent and also serious leaders. Nobody backed off. We're delighted to get the victory for Tyrone.

"What an addition Peter Canavan is to have around a football team and you can see the camaraderie and the spirit and how much he and Brian Dooher have given to it.

"The others in the backroom team have worked night and day with players. All I can do is thank everyone."
