Tyrone remain on course for a four-in-a-row of McKenna Cups after Kyle Coney's 38th minute goal helped them defeat Antrim at Clones.

Mickey Harte's charges will meet Armagh for the second time in less than three weeks on Wednesday night at a venue to be decided for a place in the final after making it three wins from three in Section C. Coney raised the only goal early in the second half after Sean Cavanagh's point attempt had come back off the upright.

Cavanagh was outstanding for a Tyrone side that showed nine changes from that which easily saw off St. Mary's last weekend. Sean McVeigh and Niall Morgan ('45') traded early points before CJ McGourty restored Antrim's lead. But scores from Plunkett Kane, Coney and Darren McCurry made it 0-4 to 0-2 in the Red Hands' favour before an Owen Gallagher brace kept the Saffrons in it.

However, further points from Conor McAliskey and Cavanagh had the winners - who missed three goal chances in the opening half - 0-7 to 0-4 ahead at the break.

Tyrone tightened their grip on proceedings when Coney netted three minutes after the restart. Cavanagh added two more points, while McCurry also impressed for the holders, who restricted Frank Fitzsimons' men to just three second half scores.
