Omagh captain Hugh Gallagher admits Slaughtneil caught his eye when he attended one of their Derry SFC matches this season.

The 27-year-old attended the would-be champions' clash with Kilrea during the summer (having befriended Kilrea's Brian Og McAlary in Australia) and he remembers a trademark team display from the side that stands between his chances of lifting the Seamus McFerran Cup in Armagh this weekend:

"I was very impressed by them," Gallagher tells The Belfast Telegraph. "They are a really, really solid team.

"They have a good defence, six men that you would be happy to go with toe-to-toe. In midfield, Patsy [Bradley] and big Paudie McGuigan are good, then in the forward line, you have Chrissy Bradley and everything seems to go through him, then Paul Bradley and Pa Kelly as well.

"They have county men, ex-county men. A good, strong solid team."
