Omagh St. Enda's have landed the O'Neill Cup for the first time since 1988 after Ronan O'Neill's injury-time goal gave them a dramatic victory over 14-man Carrickmore at Healy Park.

The record title holders looked to have done enough when Martin Penrose's fifth point put them two clear with time running out, but there was a final twist which saw O'Neill hit the winning goal to the delight of the home supporters in the estimated 10,000 crowd.

It was a heartbreaking defeat for Carmen, who have now lost four finals since their last success nine years ago. In a game that was level seven times, Carrickmore led by 0-8 to 0-6 at the break thanks to points from Penrose, Paul McAleer, Mickey Donaghy and Ruairi Loughran.

They were also denied goals either side of half-time when Joe McMahon deflected Niall Loughran's fisted effort onto the post and Ryan Clarke saved from Donaghy.

Despite having Johnny Munroe sent off on a second yellow card midway through the second half, Carmen seemed poised to lift their 15th O'Neill Cup until O'Neill won it at the death for the town side.
