Tyrone Masters

September 22, 2014

Tyrone Masters The 2015 All Ireland Masters competition has kicked off and last years' beaten finalists Tyrone came up against a strong Leitrim outfit under lights at Fintona last Tuesday night. This Leitrim team lost out in the semi- final last year to eventual winners Galway and showed their commitment by travelling for the midweek fixture. The first half was controlled by Tyrone but their dominance was not turned into scores with several goal chances missed. As a result the teams went in at half time 0-5 each. Leitrim made the running for most of the second half and were 4 points clear at one stage. However a resurgent Tyrone pulled it back to a draw with 5 minutes remaining. However Tyrone were unable to hold on to the draw with a late goal and another point from the visitors leaving them clear winners by 4. The home side will rue their poor shooting but will have an opportunity to get back on track when they play Mayo away on Saturday 27th September. Tyrone training continues in Killyclogher every Monday night at 7.30. Managers Eugene Bradley and Joe Leonard welcome any new players. Anyone who is 40 within this calendar year is eligible. Thanks to the Fintona club for the use of their excellent floodlit facilities and for the tea and sandwiches afterwards. Tyrone team v Letrim.
