Nine counties are represented on our football team of the week.

1. Rory Beggan (Monaghan)

Beggan beats off stiff competition from Meath's Paddy O'Rourke for the number one jersey after finishing as his side's top scorer against Armagh.

2. Jason McLoughlin (Cavan)

McLoughlin and his Breffni County defensive colleagues made life extremely uncomfortable for the Westmeath attack on Saturday.

3. Kevin Reilly (Meath)

The Royal County captain's participation was brought to a premature end because of an injury but, when he was out on the field, he superbly marshalled his team's defensive effort.

4. Finian Moriarty (Armagh)

Armagh supporters will be hoping that Moriarty and his Orchard County team-mates can keep the Monaghan forwards at bay in the replay.

5. Dessie Mone (Monaghan)

As is his norm, the ever-reliable Mone was to the fore for the Anglo Celt Cup holders and they will be hoping to finish off the job next Sunday.

6. Daniel St Ledger (Carlow)

Stung by criticism following their 28-point defeat by Meath, Carlow's players responded with a spirited one-point victory over Waterford and centre-back St Ledger led the charge for Anthony Rainbow's charges.

7. Paul Sharry (Westmeath)

The Westmeath captain was the stand-out defender in Kingspan Breffni Park, particularly during the third quarter when Cavan threatened to pull away from Paul Bealin's charges.

8. Colm Cavanagh (Tyrone)

Cavanagh came out on top in his personal duel with Louth's talisman Paddy Keenan and helped lay the foundations for his side's runaway 17-point success.

9. Michael Darragh Macauley (Dublin)

Wexford opponent Daithi Waters gave as good as he got in the early stages of the Leinster SFC semi-final but there was no stopping the Footballer of the Year once he clicked into top gear.

10. Paul Flynn (Dublin)

Another performance full of industry and work-rate, the Fingallians clubman helped himself to 1-2 against the Model County.

11. Kevin Dyas (Armagh)

Dyas pulled the strings from the centre-forward position as Armagh came close to pulling off an upset up north.

12. Andrew Tormey (Meath)

The Donaghmore/Ashbourne clubman has nailed down a permanent starting spot on Meath's starting 15 and rewarded manager Mick O'Dowd's faith in him with 1-4 against the Lilywhites.

13. Cormac Costello (Dublin)

As impacts go, Cormac Costello couldn't have asked for better in the semi-final against Wexford with a personal tally of 1-5 following his half-time introduction.

14. Stephen Bray (Meath)

The Kildare full-back line trio of Hugh McGrillen, Michael Foley and Emmet Bolton will be glad to see the back of Bray who found the target with four points in the first of the two Leinster SFC semi-finals.

15. Conor Laverty (Down)

The nippy Mourne County corner-forward helped himself to 2-4 as Down taught visitors Leitrim a harsh lesson in the qualifier clash at Newry.
