Donnelly "prepared to play anywhere"

Tyrone's latest utility player Mattie Donnelly is quite happy to don any jersey come match day.

A half forward last year, Donnelly was parachuted in to the edge of the square for most of 2014 but then found himself shifted to centre back for last weekend's victory over Westmeath.

"I'm prepared to play anywhere," the Trillick clubman confirms in The Irish News. "I don't really get hung up on where I prefer to play because if you don't get to play there then it can have a negative impact on your mindset. So I'm prepared to play wherever.

"I would be confident enough in my ability to play both. I would adapt fairly quickly and I have a fair idea of what's required of both roles, all over the pitch.

"You have to use your head in all of the positions all over the pitch, use your attributes and bring them to whatever position you're in, and be confident that I can fill any position.

"I was aware at the start of the year that my versatility might be useful to Tyrone."
