Mickey Harte says Tyrone's new breed can learn a lot from veteran centre back Conor Gormley.

The long-serving Carrickmore clubman was magnificent in defeat against Donegal at Ballybofey last month and his manager points out in The Irish News that his leadership qualities are priceless:

"I think he played a very, very composed role. I suppose - in the middle of all that was going on - he showed his experience and he showed his ability to read the game.

"It was very encouraging that he was so effective in that game. If he continues to keep injury-free, then it's going to be a good bonus as the championship season goes on.

"He wouldn't particularly like losing. I suppose none of us really do like that so he is definitely an example to the younger players that it takes something extra special to be a winner at the top level.

"He can tell them what it took in the past and can tell them what needs to be done now."
