One Clonmel Commercials supporter may well have just taken fanaticism to a whole new level.
After the club's historic Munster senior football championship final victory on Sunday, the Tipperary champions are set to travel to London next for their All-Ireland quarter-final and it seems one supporter is selling Michael Quinlivan's underwear to get there.
A picture of a pair Aéropostale boxers shorts appeared on adverts.ie this evening and the seller - 'murphpop6' - claims that they are the very ones worn by Commercials' goal hero Quinlivan from the provincial final win over Nemo Rangers.
The non-negotiable asking price is €157, as explained in the below description posted by the seller:
"I am reluctantly selling a pair of Tipp Footballing star Michael Quinlivan's used boxer shorts. I have a genuine reason for selling - trying to raise funds to pay for my €157 flight to London for the All Ireland club quarter final.
"This is a collector's item of clothing and has been worn by 'MQ14' at least 4 times. They are rumoured to be the very shorts worn by Michael when his glorious left leg sunk the might of Nemo Rangers on Sunday 29/11/15 (this rumour cannot be confirmed). The boxers were found in Larkin's early house pub in Clonmel the morning after Commercials won the Munster senior club football final.
"They are lightly soiled at the crotch and skidmark free at the rear. There is a slight bit of stretching on the thigh elastics due to Michael's enormous quads. The brand of the boxers are 'Aeropostale'. The cotton tag has been ripped from the boxers. It is believed that this was causing Michael to chafe when he was jumping to field high ball.
"No timewasters please, genuine offers only."
