Kearns takes over Premier reins

November 25, 2015

Liam Kearns

Liam Kearns has been appointed as Tipperary's new senior football manager.

Kearns was confirmed in his new role at last night's county board meeting and takes over the reins of the Premier County from Peter Creedon, who stepped down after the 12-point qualifier defeat to Tyrone last July.

The Tralee man, who had previously managed both Limerick and Laois in the past, steered Aherlow to the Tipperary senior football championship title in 2010 - seven years after guiding Limerick to back-to-back Munster finals which were both lost to his native Kerry.

U21 boss Tommy Toomey will assist Kearns as a selector, while Paul Fitzgerald and Shane Stapleton complete the backroom team.
