Westmeath's Kieran Martin and John 'Bubbles' O'Dwyer of Tipperary have been named as the Opel sponsored GAA/GPA Players of the Month for June.

Martin took the football gong after his 2-3 inspired Westmeath to an historic Leinster SFC semi-final victory over neighbours Meath. And O'Dwyer was honoured with the hurling award following his brilliant scoring display for Tipp in their Munster SHC semi-final defeat of Limerick.

The other football nominees were Adrian Marren (Sligo) and Michael Murphy (Donegal). The hurling shortlist was completed by Tadhg de Burca (Waterford) and Ger Aylward (Kilkenny).
